Chrysler Changes Name to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles

MILAN: Italian car giant Fiat on Wednesday announced it was changing its name after completing the purchase of US automaker Chrysler to "Fiat Chrysler Automobiles" and would list its shares in New York and Milan.

"In order to establish a true peer to the major global automotive groups, in both scale and capital market appeal, the Board has decided to establish Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V., organized in the Netherlands, as the parent company of the Group," the group said in a statement.

Watch the 2015 Chrysler 200 debut at the Detroit Auto Show

The 2015 Chrysler 200 shares the same platform as the Dodge Dart and will be available with AWD. The base 200 C boasts a 185 horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder which will get in the mid-30 MPG range. This makes it much more competitive given how important MPG ratings have become to consumers as gas prices continue to fluctuate.

Not enough power for you? Then move up from the base model to the 200 C with a 295 horsepower Pentastar V6. What you're not getting is a convertible which won't be a part of the redesign.

The 2015 Chrysler 200 will come with a nine-speed automatic, similar to what is found in the Jeep Cherokee and a more upscale interior than in years past. It's all about quiet, comfort and elegance as they try to improve the sedan's image.
