The 2015 Chrysler 200, which has received rave reviews since it was unveiled in Detroit a couple months ago, should start arriving in dealer showrooms during the second quarter.
But, first, we have to build some.
On Friday, Chrysler is having a production celebration at the Sterling Heights, Mich., Assembly Plant, home of the 200. If you’re not among the traditional, digital and social media invited, you can still get an insider’s view.
Starting off Friday morning, we’ll tour the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant and share the experience with you. To see what we see, watch our Chrysler Group Instagram account http://instagram.com/chryslergroup.
Since 2010, Chrysler Group has invested nearly $1 billion in the plant to build a new paint shop, body shop and retool the assembly line. Those investments make the plant one of Chrysler Group’s largest (5 million plus square feet) and most-technologically advanced manufacturing operations.
Then, we will have a live webcast, beginning at 1:30 p.m., of the production celebration. Right now, that event is scheduled to include:
Chrysler Group Chairman & CEO Sergio Marchionne
UAW President Bob King
Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel
Sterling Heights Mayor Richard Notte
Sterling Heights Plant Manager Tyree Minner
If you can’t make the Livestream event, it’ll be available afterwards for your on-demand viewing pleasure.
